Nikkah Video

I had asked my cousin if I could film portions of his wedding for a school project and he agreed as long as I can edit a short video for him as they did not hire a videographer. So here is the nikkah ceremony of this traditional Islamic wedding. Enjoy!

Wall Street has always been synonymous with the Financial District and the stock market, and having an actual wall, but on Saturday, May 18, Wall Street was closed off and home to some good ol’ family fun.

The FiDi Association hosted a neighborhood block party on Wall Street, in front of the Andaz Wall Street hotel for Lower Manhattan residents and visitors to enjoy a great day outdoors. Despite some rain and wind, the weather did not put a damper on an otherwise fantastic afternoon.

The hundreds of partygoers were treated to an unforgettable day of face painting, nail art, creating charm bracelets and macaroni jewelry, massages, balloon twisting and much more. Many local businesses were on hand including the W Downtown, Léman Manhattan Preparatory School, Les Halles, Greenwich Jewelers, The Spa at The Setai Club, Downtown Cellars and Rosabianca & Associates and Professione Casa Prestige International. The block party was also a hotspot for sports fans. Former New York Ranger Brian Mullen was even there to hang out with hockey fans and enjoy the day’s festivities and youth football teamDowntown Giants had people testing their aim while attempting to throw footballs into a target.

DOWNTOWN Magazine was there turning people into cover stars in their entertaining photo booth. Visitors wore oversized sunglasses and vibrant feather boas. They even had the opportunity to meet and pet the infamous Barclay of “Barclay’s Spot!”

What would a block party be without the eats? Stone Street Tavern was handing out their gourmet mac and cheese and pork sandwiches. After chowing down on these delicious bites, Le Maison Du Chocolat had a sweet treat ready, where they offered cups of cold liquid chocolate.

Everywhere you looked, there were children running around with an array of colorful designs painted on their faces with cones of old-fashioned popcorn in hand.

This family-friendly day was truly an eventful and joyous one to socialize with the Financial District community and meet new faces.
